Kurz gesagt: NautiSimple ist ein digitales Logbuch für das iPhone. Dein Logbuch, deine Boote, Crew, Fotos und Notfallkontakte liegen auf deinem Gerät. Es gibt kein Benutzerkonto, keine Werbung, kein Tracking und keine Analyse deines Nutzungsverhaltens. Für Wetter, Karte, Häfen und Webcams ruft die App Daten bei externen Diensten ab und sendet dafür deinen Standort an diese Dienste.
1. Verantwortlicher

2. Daten, die auf deinem Gerät bleiben
Diese Daten speichert die App lokal und überträgt sie nicht an uns:
- Logbucheinträge, Ereignisse, Häfen, Zeiten, Logge- und Motorstände
- Boote, Crew, Skipper und Angaben für den Seemeilennachweis
- Fotos, die du einem Eintrag hinzufügst
- Notfallkontakte (Name und Telefonnummer)
- gespeicherte Orte auf der Karte
- deine Unterschrift für den Export
- Einstellungen der App
Löschst du die App, werden diese Daten vom Gerät entfernt.
3. Daten, die an externe Dienste gehen
Damit Wetter, Karte und Umgebungssuche funktionieren, sendet die App Anfragen direkt von deinem Gerät an die folgenden Dienste. Jeder dieser Dienste sieht dabei technisch bedingt auch deine IP-Adresse. Wir selbst erhalten diese Daten nicht.

KI-Proxy: Die KI-Anfragen laufen über einen von uns betriebenen Dienst bei Cloudflare. Groq erhält dadurch weder deine IP-Adresse noch die Installations-ID. Der Proxy begrenzt die Zahl der Anfragen pro Installation und pro IP-Adresse, damit der Dienst nicht missbraucht wird. Dafür zählt er Anfragen anhand der Installations-ID und einer gekürzten Prüfsumme der IP-Adresse; diese Zähler werden täglich gelöscht. Der Proxy führt keine Protokolle. Die Installations-ID ist eine Zufallszahl, die die App beim ersten Start erzeugt; sie ist mit keinem Konto und keiner Gerätekennung verbunden und entsteht bei einer Neuinstallation neu. Rechtsgrundlage für das Ratenlimit ist unser berechtigtes Interesse am Schutz des Dienstes (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f DSGVO).
Übermittlung in Drittländer: Mehrere dieser Anbieter sitzen außerhalb der Europäischen Union oder betreiben dort Server, insbesondere Groq, Cloudflare und Apple in den USA. Für solche Übermittlungen stützen sich die Anbieter auf das EU-US Data Privacy Framework oder auf EU-Standardvertragsklauseln. Einzelheiten findest du in den Datenschutzhinweisen des jeweiligen Anbieters.
Rechtsgrundlage: Die Übermittlung ist nötig, um dir die jeweilige Funktion bereitzustellen (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. b DSGVO). Den Standortzugriff erlaubst du selbst über die Berechtigungsabfrage von iOS und kannst ihn jederzeit in den iOS-Einstellungen widerrufen. Ohne Standort bleibt das Logbuch nutzbar; Wetter, Positionsanzeige und Umgebungssuche stehen dann nicht zur Verfügung.
4. Standort
Die App fragt deinen Standort ab, solange du sie benutzt: für die Positionsanzeige, das Wetter, die Karte und um einem Ereignis Position und Wetter beizufügen. Sie zeichnet keine Route auf und fragt den Standort nicht im Hintergrund ab. Positionen, die du in einem Ereignis speicherst, bleiben auf deinem Gerät.
5. Umfrage
In den Einstellungen kannst du freiwillig eine Umfrage ausfüllen. Sendest du sie ab, werden deine Sternebewertung, deine Antworten und Freitexte, die App-Version, das Gerätemodell und die eingestellte Sprache über den Dienst formsubmit.co per E-Mail an uns übermittelt. Name, E-Mail-Adresse oder Standort werden dabei nicht abgefragt. Schreibe bitte keine persönlichen Daten in die Freitextfelder. Rechtsgrundlage ist deine Einwilligung durch das Absenden (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. a DSGVO). Die Umfrage-E-Mails werden gelöscht, sobald sie ausgewertet sind, spätestens nach 12 Monaten.
6. Backup
- iPhone-Backup: Die Daten der App sind Teil des Geräte-Backups von iOS. Nutzt du das iCloud-Backup, liegen sie dort in deinem Apple-Konto. Das steuerst du in den iOS-Einstellungen; es gelten die Datenschutzbestimmungen von Apple.
- Backup-Datei: Du kannst deine Daten zusätzlich als Datei exportieren und selbst ablegen oder weitergeben. Wir betreiben keinen eigenen Cloud-Speicher.
7. Export und Teilen
Logbuch-Auszüge (PDF) und Tabellen (CSV) erzeugt die App auf deinem Gerät. Ob und mit wem du sie teilst, entscheidest du über das Teilen-Menü von iOS.
8. Notruf (SOS)
Der SOS-Bereich zeigt deine Position, die Notrufnummer des Landes und einen vorbereiteten MAYDAY-Spruch. Einen Anruf oder eine SMS an deinen Notfallkontakt startest du selbst; die App wählt nicht automatisch. Die vorbereitete SMS enthält Bootsname und Position und wird über die Nachrichten-App deines iPhones versendet.

10. Was wir nicht tun
Keine Werbung, keine Analyse- oder Tracking-Werkzeuge, keine Weitergabe von Daten zu Werbezwecken, keine Benutzerkonten.
11. Deine Rechte
Du hast nach der DSGVO das Recht auf Auskunft, Berichtigung, Löschung, Einschränkung der Verarbeitung, Datenübertragbarkeit und Widerspruch sowie das Recht, dich bei einer Datenschutz-Aufsichtsbehörde zu beschweren. Da wir außer einer freiwillig gesendeten Umfrage keine Daten von dir erhalten, liegen deine Daten in der Regel nur auf deinem Gerät und bei den oben genannten Diensten. Für Anfragen erreichst du uns unter der oben genannten E-Mail-Adresse.
12. Änderungen
Wir passen diese Erklärung an, wenn sich die App oder die Rechtslage ändert. Es gilt die jeweils auf dieser Seite veröffentlichte Fassung.
Privacy Policy

In short: NautiSimple is a digital logbook for iPhone. Your logbook, boats, crew, photos and emergency contacts are stored on your device. There is no user account, no advertising, no tracking and no analysis of how you use the app. For weather, map, harbours and webcams the app fetches data from external services and sends your location to them for that purpose.

2. Data that stays on your device
The app stores this data locally and does not transmit it to us:
- logbook entries, events, harbours, times, log and engine readings
- boats, crew, skipper and details for the sea miles record
- photos you add to an entry
- emergency contacts (name and phone number)
- saved places on the map
- your signature for the export
- app settings
If you delete the app, this data is removed from the device.
3. Data sent to external services
To make weather, map and nearby search work, the app sends requests directly from your device to the services below. For technical reasons each of them also sees your IP address. We do not receive this data ourselves.

AI proxy: AI requests go through a service we operate at Cloudflare. As a result Groq receives neither your IP address nor the installation ID. The proxy limits the number of requests per installation and per IP address to prevent abuse of the service. To do so it counts requests using the installation ID and a truncated hash of the IP address; these counters are deleted daily. The proxy keeps no logs. The installation ID is a random number the app creates on first launch; it is not tied to any account or device identifier and is created anew when the app is reinstalled. The legal basis for rate limiting is our legitimate interest in protecting the service (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Transfers outside the EU: Several of these providers are located outside the European Union or operate servers there, in particular Groq, Cloudflare and Apple in the USA. For such transfers the providers rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or on EU Standard Contractual Clauses. Details can be found in each provider's privacy notice.
Legal basis: The transmission is necessary to provide the respective feature (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). You grant location access yourself through the iOS permission prompt and can revoke it at any time in the iOS settings. Without location the logbook remains usable; weather, position display and nearby search are then unavailable.
4. Location
The app reads your location while you are using it: for the position display, weather, the map and to attach position and weather to an event. It does not record a route and does not read your location in the background. Positions you save in an event stay on your device.
5. Survey
In the settings you can voluntarily fill in a survey. If you submit it, your star rating, your answers and free text, the app version, the device model and the selected language are sent to us by email through the service formsubmit.co. Your name, email address and location are not requested. Please do not enter personal data in the free-text fields. The legal basis is your consent given by submitting (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Survey emails are deleted once they have been evaluated, at the latest after 12 months.
6. Backup
- iPhone backup: The app's data is part of the iOS device backup. If you use iCloud Backup, it is stored there in your Apple account. You control this in the iOS settings; Apple's privacy policy applies.
- Backup file: You can additionally export your data as a file and store or share it yourself. We do not operate any cloud storage of our own.
7. Export and sharing
Logbook excerpts (PDF) and spreadsheets (CSV) are created on your device. Whether and with whom you share them is your decision via the iOS share sheet.
8. Emergency call (SOS)
The SOS area shows your position, the country's emergency number and a prepared MAYDAY call. You start a call or a text message to your emergency contact yourself; the app never dials automatically. The prepared message contains the boat name and position and is sent through your iPhone's Messages app.

10. What we do not do
No advertising, no analytics or tracking tools, no sharing of data for advertising purposes, no user accounts.
11. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. Apart from a voluntarily submitted survey we receive no data from you, so your data is generally stored only on your device and with the services listed above. 12. Changes
We update this policy when the app or the legal situation changes. The version published on this page applies.
